How to Slash the Costs of Calling Mobiles

To summarise quickly how we do it, it's by taking advantage of an anomaly in the way that calls to mobiles are charged.

For every minute of fixed-to-mobile calls, the mobile networks charge the fixed line telephone companies an 'interconnection fee.' That's why even a lower-cost telephone service can't reduce the cost of calls to mobiles very much. But mobile-to-mobile calls don't incur the interconnection charge.

The easy way to save, then, is to add some specialised mobile phone equipment (a Mobile Gateway) to your existing office phone system. Once installed, entirely for free, calls to mobiles automatically get routed through the Gateway at mobile-to-mobile call rates. We can typically reduce the costs of those calls by 40%!

Because of the wide range of equipment and mobile tariffs available, the quickest route to finding out the potential savings is to give us a ring. We will ask you for the following information:

How much you spend ex VAT per month on calls from your office to mobile phones? (This should be on the summary page of your phone bill)

How many minutes that spend represents in total? (Again, that should be on your phone bill's summary page)

What sort of exchange lines you are connected to (i.e. 'normal' analogue lines, ISDN2 or ISDN30), and how many there are?

Is it fully legal to use Mobile Gateways? The short answer is yes! Ofcom have
confirmed that it is entirely legal under UK law for organisations (whether businesses or consumers) to purchase, install and use mobile gateways for their own 'private use'. In simple terms, this means that the gateway can only be used by the end user/ organisation actually making the calls.
